¹³ and gave them this order: “Say, ‘His disciples came by night and stole the body while we were asleep.’ ¹⁴ And should the governor hear anything in this regard, we will explain the situation to him and you will be safe.” ¹⁵ The soldiers took the money and did as they had been instructed. And this story is still circulated among the Jews to this very day.
